Bromley 1 Wealdstone 1 (Sun, 28 Dec)

Match Reports
Another highly determined and gritty performance saw Wealdstone take a well-earned point from high flying Bromley on Sunday at Hayes Lane in front of 1,239 spectators.   Man of the match was undoubtedly Stones keeper Jonathan North who kept his side in the match at vital points in this tense but entertaining contest, pulling off a string of outstanding saves. But credit has to be given to the whole squad who battled and persevered throughout in the face of intense pressure, particularly in the second half as the home side pushed forward strongly.   The match saw the full debut since his re-signing of Richard Jolly who was on target with a goal on 33 minutes who levelled up after Bromley had grabbed the lead only 5 minutes earlier. Bromley started the stronger overall on…

Wealdstone 1 Sutton United 1 (Fri, 26 Dec)

Match Reports
Wealdstone 1 Sutton United 1   Wealdstone’s determination and persistence to the end again paid dividends in what in truth was a dour struggle of a Boxing Day match at The Vale against a strong but currentlyunder achieving Sutton United side. Substitute Matt Ball grabbed a late injury time equaliser after Stones had trailed from a first half own goal.   The start of the match was delayed due to a warm up injury to goalkeeper Jonathan North. The extra treatment time was well worth the wait as North went on to enjoy another fine performance. Stones appeared to lack fluidity from the off and their new signing Jefferson Louis was replaced by Matt Ball after 31 minutes. Defensively, the home side remained solid and dealt with sporadic U’s attacks and looked comfortable until the visitors won a free kick outside the area seven…

Supporters Club Programme Notes – Sutton United (Fri, 26 Dec)

Articles & Blogs
Good afternoon to one and all.     Here we are having an early 1pm kick-off on Boxing Day!  I hope that you all have recovered enough from yesterday’s festivities to enjoy today’s fare.   I am writing these notes having just read that Barnet were beaten 6-2 at home by Concord Rangers in their FA Trophy replay.  It appears that they had some of their youths playing – either they thought that they would win easily or they did not really care about progressing in the Trophy.  Arrogant or short-sighted,   I’ll leave that for you to decide.  Meanwhile we look forward to hosting Bath City on the 10th January in the 2nd round of the same competition, of which we love to be a part.    Have you got some Christmas money burning a hole…

Bath City 0 Wealdstone 1 (Sat, 20 Dec)

Match Reports
Bath City 0 Wealdstone 1 Wealdstone continue their great winning run on Saturday this time against traditional bogey side Bath City.  Stones committed a classic smash and grab victory in the fourth minutes of added time when Joe Turner became an instant hero with the goal that sparked wild celebrations amongst the vast travelling support.   For much of this match both sides struggled to gain a real foothold in the proceedings with play often looking scrappy and lacking cohesion. The opening period belonged to the home side, with Frankie Artus, Chris Allen and Andy Watkins all presented with decent opportunities to take the lead.  But Stones gradually worked their way into the game based on some very solid defensive work and an outstanding display from keeper Jonathan North.  Sean Lucien and Joe Turner…

We are doing this for Great Ormond Street Hospital, Autism Concern and Wealdstone FC Youth, all registered charities. BUT we are also doing this for football fans up and down the country. The Wealdstone…

Stones draw Bath City in FA Trophy draw

Announcements
The draw for the second round of the FA Trophy was made today at Wembley Stadium and the Stones have been drawn at home to fellow Conference South side, Bath City and this tie will be played at the Vale on Saturday, 10 January 2015 with a 3pm kick-off.  Bath City lie in 12th place in the Conference South and are only three points above the Stones in the league table. This draw does give an excellent opportunity for the Stones to advance in a competition where they reached the semi-final stage in 2011. Coincidently, the Stones play a league game at Bath on this coming Saturday.

Stones sign Jefferson Louis

Announcements
Stones sign Jefferson Louis   Wealdstone have signed striker Jefferson Louis from Vanarama Conference North side Lowestoft Town.   The 35 year old, 6ft 2” front man is well known locally as he was a prolific marksman for Hendon in the Ryman Premier League two seasons ago where he netted 22 goals.    The much travelled footballer counts many clubs on his CV including vast experience professionally with Football League and Conference sides where he has always scored goals. More recently he has played for Margate and Brackley Town.   Stones Manager Gordon Bartlett said: ‘We have been in talks for some weeks with Jefferson. Timing is important with new signings and with the long term injury to Connor Calcutt and Enoch Showunmi out at Canvey Island we need to add to our options up front. Jefferson has a great deal of…
