Sutton United 5 Wealdstone 2 (Sat, 29 Aug 2015)

Match Reports
Match Report: Saturday, 29 August 2015: National League South: Sutton United 5 Wealdstone 2 The inevitable teeth gnashing and wringing of hands over Wealdstone’s lamentable start to the season stepped up a few notches on Saturday as Stones were blown away on the home sides newly installed plastic pitch. Following last week’s narrow but encouragingly battling 1-2 defeat to highly flying Ebbsfleet United hopes were high that Wealdstone could pull off a result at Gander Green Lane. But those hopes were soon dashed, in fact after only 4 minutes, during an awful first half when the defence appeared in explicably static, not helped by recently dual signed ‘Keeper Shane Gore having a difficult debut covering for the suspended Jon North. Stones now have a single point from six games but…

Wealdstone 1 Ebbsfleet United 2 (Sat, 22 Aug 2015)

Match Reports
Match Report: Saturday, 22 August 2015: National League South: Wealdstone 1 Ebbsfleet United 2   In the proverbial game of two halves it was high flying Ebbsfleet United that eventually came out on top of this entertaining and highly competitive encounter, leaving Stones again winless. Huge credit to the home side in taking the game to a very strong Ebbsfleet side and they bossed most of the play in the first period with Bradley Hudson-Odoi showing some great skill down the left flank and posing a big threat throughout.   In fact Stones had the ball in net from a great flowing move on 13 minutes with Hudson- Odoi instrumental, but Josh Hutchinson’s effort was ruled frustratingly, offside. The away side passed the ball well enough but lacked any real…

Wealdstone 0 Eastbourne Borough 1 (Sat, 15 Aug 2015)

Match Reports
Match Report: Saturday, 15 August 2015: National League South: Wealdstone 0 Eastbourne Borough 1 Wealdstone’s tale of woe continued at The Vale on Saturday with a third successive defeat. But the match turned on a moment of high controversy on 35 minutes when keeper Jon North was dismissed for handling the ball outside the area, the referee adjudging that he had denied a clear goal scoring opportunity. With no substitute gloveman on the bench, it was down to midfielder Matt Ball to go between the sticks. On- loan keeper Alex Lynch from Wycombe Wanderers had been recalled the same day by the injury hit Bucks club - such is Stones luck at present. Referee Mr E Kaye rather officiously delayed kick off by 6 minutes as he demanded that two…

Wealdstone 1 Concord Rangers 2 (Mon, 10 Aug 2015)

Match Reports
Match Report: Monday, 10 August 2015: National League South: Wealdstone 1 Concord Rangers 2: Stones endured another reverse going  down to Concord Rangers at The Vale last night in a keenly contested match, the starting eleven from Saturday’s defeat at Bath City was tweaked with Carl Martin slotting into the back four to partner Tom Hamblin at the heart of the defence with Michael Corcoran moving into midfield and Dan Brown dropping down to the bench. With the Stones kicking towards the Bulla Stand there was little between the sides during the  opening exchanges, as the game settled down Shaun Lucien was the main attacking outlet with his pace and trickery which bemused former Stones James Hammond playing at right back for the visitors including an early booking to stop the…
