Ebbsfleet United 2 Wealdstone 3 (Sat, 31 Oct 2015)

Match Reports
Ebbsfleet United 2 Wealdstone 3 By Nick DuGard A hugely spirited performance at moneyed league leaders Ebbsfleet United gave Wealdstone a richly deserved three points and with it the perfect preparation for next Saturdays gigantean FA Cup task at the Freebets.co.uk Stadium when they face League 1 outfit Colchester United.  The clash was only two minutes old when Stones grabbed a fantastic goal. New signing from rivals Hemel Hempstead Town, Matty Harriott, scored with his first touch after Fleet failed to clear their lines and the ball sat up for Harriott at the edge of the area; the former Northampton midfielder lashed a superb effort past Brandon Hall leaving the bewildered keeper helpless.   Stones again seized the initiative and Bradley Hudson-Odoi moved clear but had the ball whipped away from him just as big Jefferson Louis moved in for kill.   Fleet gradually settled and passed the ball well as befits their league status and Stones started to get hemmed in their…

Wealdstone 2 Bognor Regis 1 (Sat, 24 Oct 2015)

Match Reports
Match Report by Nick DuGard: Saturday, 24 October 2015: FA Cup 4th Qualifying Round: Wealdstone 2 Bognor Regis Town 1   Wealdstone have done it!  In a frenzy of excitement and drama on Saturday, Stones moved into the First Round Proper of the Emirates FA Cup for the first time since 2009.     This was a typically rip-roaring Cup tie full of excitement and incident with both sets of fans boisterously cheering on their respective teams throughout the contest. But it was a memorable and truly heroic man of the match performance from ‘keeper Jonathan North that will make the headlines.   North spectacularly saved two well taken penalty kicks from the Rocks star player Jason Prior who also won both spot kicks, being controversially brought down in each half.   After early midfield sparring the Rocks generally held the ascendancy in the first period, playing…

Supporters Club Programme Notes by Mark Randall (Sat, 24 Oct 2015)

Announcements
Good afternoon and welcome to the 4th Qualifying round of the Emirates FA Cup against Bognor Regis Town FC. Today’s winner goes into the hat with the chance of landing a plum tie away to a big league side. With little chance of winning they score a last minute winner and memories of a lifetime are made. Or they could draw a team from the same level, lose, and then have to watch the victors appear live on TV in the next round. That’s the romance of the cup and I hope today’s fixture lives up to it! Like the Stones, Bognor like to play football and are backed up by a very vocal support and I hope that whatever happens they all have an enjoyable day and a safe…
