Howard Krais to stand down as Stones Chairman

Announcements
Wealdstone FC Chairman Howard Krais has today announced that he is to step down from the role at the end of the current season after nine years at the helm of the Club. During his long tenure as Chairman, Howard, a life long supporter of Wealdstone, led the club through exciting times with success on and off the pitch, including the critically important move in 2008 to Wealdstone’s current home at Grosvenor Vale. His period as Chairman has seen progress on the pitch with the crowning achievement being promotion as Champions from the Ryman Premier League in 2014, together with high profile cup successes in the FA Cup and FA Trophy. Off the pitch much has been achieved to take the Club forward including the development of excellent relationships…

Dartford 1 Wealdstone 2 (Tue, 26 Jan 2016)

Match Reports
Match Report by Nick DuGard: Tuesday, 26 January 2016:  National League South: Dartford 1 Wealdstone 2   Wealdstone secured a remarkable against the odds victory at a windswept Princes Park on Tuesday and in the process claimed their first victory since December 19th.    A win, let alone a draw seemed unlikely after a dominant Dartford had taken the lead early in the second half. But after veteran Scott McGleish had proved that class is ageless with a superb leveller, Stones snatched the lead in a further twist when the dropped Jefferson Louis came off the bench to clinch a hugely valuable win. This was Louis’s first goal in open play in seven games but what a important strike it was lifting Wealdstone up to 15th in the table.   The game was not without cost however; a…

Eastbourne Borough 3 Wealdstone 0 (Sat, 23 Jan 2016)

Match Reports
Match Report by Nick DuGard: Saturday, 23 January 2016: National League South: Eastbourne Borough 3 Wealdstone 0   Hopes were high that Wealdstone, following the previous Monday evening’s fine performance at The Freebets.co.uk stadium, would gain the points against struggling Eastbourne Borough. Instead, those that travelled to Priory Lane on Saturday witnessed an insipid display that lacked any kind of cutting edge. In fact the attack was as blunt as old Harry but the rest of team were equally toothless but more worryingly for the most part lacked ideas and appeared to capitulate in awholly depressing first half.   Matters did improve in the second period for Stones with at least far greater possession across the park, but the damage had already been done. Only one change from the Gosport performance with Johnny Wright missing via his mugging and in came Matt Ball as expected.…

Wealdstone 1 Gosport Borough 1 (Mon, 18 Jan 2016)

Match Reports
Match Report by Nick DuGard: Monday, 18 January 2016: National League South: Wealdstone 1 Gosport Borough 1 Wealdstone’s capacity to concede late, late goals dented an otherwise excellent, battling performance at a freezing cold Freebets.co.uk Stadium on Monday night. Stones put in a shift with a high tempo work rate and gritty determination, dominating an entertaining National League South match that kept the 506 crowd on their frost bitten toes – particularly in a frenetic second period. A moment of high controversy marred the game however with ten minutes to go. Gosport keeper Nathan Ashmore who had undoubtedly kept his side in contention through proceedings with a fine performance between the sticks appeared to strike Johnny Wright off the ball in a nasty looking incident in the area. Referee Mr…

Weston-Super-Mare 3 Wealdstone 2 (Wed, 13 Jan 2016)

Match Reports
Summary Match Report by Nick DuGard: FA Trophy 1st Round: Wednesday, 13 January 2016: Weston Super Mare 3 Wealdstone 2 So after all the frustration of five rain soaked postponements, Wealdstone finally got this FA Trophy First Round tie played at the neutral ground of Paulton Rovers on Wednesday evening. And after a dreadful evening journey, arriving late they were two down in the first quarter of the match but having fought back magnificently were again undone in the last minute of the match in a miserable moment of déjà vu, a horrible repeat of the league encounter at The Vale back in December. No trip now to Vanarama National League side big boys Grimsby Town, no prize monies and a ludicrously free Saturday after all the lack of games,…
