Supporters Club Programme Notes by Jeremy Albert (Sat, 11 Apr)

Welcome to The Vale for our last home game of the season , welcome to any Whitehawk fans who have travelled to Ruislip today. Whitehawk are still very much in mix up for play off places and wish them well in their pursuit for Conference National football.   As we come to the end of our first Conference South campaign we do so in the knowledge that we are safe and a mid table position looks very likely, a very good achievement bearing in mind where we were in September. Have really enjoyed this campaign footballing wise with visiting new teams and the standard is very competitive , a lot of clubs have been very complimentary of our travelling support and I think we can safely say our presence in…

Supporters Club Programme Notes by Adam Edwards – Gosport Borough (Sat, 21 Feb)

Good afternoon one and all and welcome to The Vale for today’s game verses Gosport Borough. We trust you and your fellow fans have a pleasant stay here with us in the heart of Middlesex and also have time to share a drink with the supporters in the clubhouse after the game.   In the week that the Premier League announced record TV sponsorship, I could not feel further removed and less motivated to sit down and watch a top level game. Will the lower tiers of football see much of this money? Probably not but it will certainly mean more clubs from all levels push themselves to the limits to reach the Promised Land. However in stark contrast to this announcement I did catch an episode of FA Cup 5th Round Rewind on the BBC. Two features did stand out. The first was a half hour segment on…

A big welcome to the players, officials and supporters of Weston-Super-Mare to The Vale this afternoon and we hope you enjoy your brief visit and wish you a safe journey home after the match.   We would like to take this opportunity to welcome our latest signing Scott Davies to the club. Gordon has waved his magic wand again and beaten off strong competition from other clubs  for his signature, and judging from his impressive debut, it could prove to be a fantastic signing. We wish you a long and successful career with the Stones, Scott.   Currently we are updating the details  we hold for life members. If you have changed address, telephone numbers, or email address in the last few years, could you please email me at  jeanette_dalton@ hotmail.co.uk with the…

Supporters Club Programme Notes – Hayes & Yeading United (Sat, 31 Jan)

Supporters Club Programme Notes by Alan Palmer Good afternoon and a warm welcome to The Vale to all the players, officials and supporters from Hayes & Yeading Utd for today's game. Today will be the fourth time that the sides have met this season and its sure to be another close encounter as like Gordon Phil Babb looks to take his side to a position of mid table security in what is a very competitive league. The main talking point around the club at the moment is the Eastbourne equalizer last Saturday. Most people now accept that the ball somehow went through the side netting. Everyone will have their own take on it but goal or no goal we have to move on and ensure that we continue to build on our unbeaten…

Supporters Club Programme Notes – Chelmsford City (Sat, 17 Jan)

Good Afternoon and a warm welcome to all the players, officials and supporters from Chelmsford City for today’s game. With both teams coming off the back of a 3-1 loss both have something to put right. I thought that today would be a good point to update you all on the megastores sales over Christmas. Every year I think to myself that we can not keep increasing sales. I mean surely you can only buy so many mugs right? Well, the good news is that our supporters are the most dedicated out there and with a little help from Raider-mania we have done it again. Now this piece is not about blowing trumpets or a desire to massage egos but in December alone we racked up £3000 worth of online…

Supporters Club Programme Notes – Bath City (Sat, 10 Jan)

Articles & Blogs
Hello everyone!   We would like to welcome all supporters including those that have travelled from Bath City for today's second round tie in the FA Trophy. Bath will obviously want to avenge their home league defeat against us just before Christmas and we will want to continue our unbeaten record which stretches back to 17 November. We in fact have drawn the last four games and it would be interesting to know the last time that we drew four consecutive matches.   Jeanette, our Membership Secretary, has advised me recently that we have received details of two new life members of the Supporters Club, Paul Holden and Jim Sorrell. Welcome both of you to the fold!  Jim actually started supporting the Stones in the 1970's and went to the same…

Supporters Club Programme Notes – Hemel Hempstead Town (Sun, 4 Jan)

Articles & Blogs
Hello everyone!   First of all, I would like to wish you all a very Happy New Year and of course offer the usual cordial welcome to all Hemel Hempstead supporters who are visiting the Vale today for the Stones first home match in 2015. The last week or so has seen a strange sequence of matches and I wonder when was the last time that the Stones played on two consecutive Sundays.  Perhaps we have never done so! These notes are being written just after our 1-1 draw against Sutton which turned out to be a very dour affair with very few chances being created. It was a real relief when the Stones managed to grab an equaliser in injury time particularly as it was a few minutes after…

Good afternoon to one and all.     Here we are having an early 1pm kick-off on Boxing Day!  I hope that you all have recovered enough from yesterday’s festivities to enjoy today’s fare.   I am writing these notes having just read that Barnet were beaten 6-2 at home by Concord Rangers in their FA Trophy replay.  It appears that they had some of their youths playing – either they thought that they would win easily or they did not really care about progressing in the Trophy.  Arrogant or short-sighted,   I’ll leave that for you to decide.  Meanwhile we look forward to hosting Bath City on the 10th January in the 2nd round of the same competition, of which we love to be a part.    Have you got some Christmas money burning a hole…
