FA Cup 1st Round Draw
 
In tonight’s televised FA Cup 1st Round draw, the Stones were drawn at home to League One, Colchester United. Colchester lie in 15th place in League One. The tie will be played over the weekend of 6-9 November with the actual date and kick-off time to be determined.
 
The Stones have played Colchester on two occasions in the FA Cup. Firstly, in 1949 in the 4th Qualifying Round with the Stones winning 1-0 in front of a crowd of 9,549 at Lower Mead and secondly in 1983 in the 2nd Round Proper with Colchester winning 4-0 in front of a crowd of 2,693 at Layer Road.
