A surprisingly lacklustre performance saw Wealdstone suffer their first defeat of the season on Bank Holiday Monday as they went down 1-0 at Lewes after an unusually early kick-off that seemed to add to the lethargy on display. Having taken 7 points from their first three games Stones should have been confident of coming away from The Dripping Pan with at least a point. However their display was flat and lacked creativity, with a penalty kick from Karl Beckford being enough to gift the home side their first victory of the season. (more…)
The clouds gathered and the heavens opened but nothing could stop Wealdstone’s impressive start to the season as they climbed to 4th in the league table. As crowds awaited the arrival of Ryman Premier newcomers, Leiston, a cloudburst resulted in some expert groundwork to limit a delay of only 15 minutes to the kick-off. (more…)
The Supporters Club will be operating a coach service to Lewes on Bank Holiday Monday (27 August 2012). The coach will depart at 9.00 am from The Vale and will leave straight after the game, the earlier departure time is due of course to the kick off being brought forward. Costs will be £12.00 Adults and £7.00 for OAP's, Children 16 and under and something new for this season students !! Wealdstone completed their final first team warm up match on Saturday at The Vale with a comprehensive win over Southern League Premier Hemel Hempstead Town. This victory also delivered up Stones a first Trophy as they had been competing for the Brian Collins Memorial Shield. (more…)
