Wealdstone FC and Wealdstone FC Supporters Club are pleased to jointly report that a positive and progressive meeting took place at The Vale last week (Thursday October 8).

Wealdstone majority shareholder Nick Semaca, along with other senior club officials, responded to a number of questions put by WFCSC committee members, and in addition updates were provided on a range of specific matters.

While commercially-sensitive details must remain confidential, items covered during the evening included:

  • A way to achieve broader and more regular communication directly from the club to supporters
  • An update on the new stadium project at Freezeland Way, followed by a significant number of follow-up questions
  • An explanation of the challenges around player trading that followed Wembley and the effect of constraints upon clubs including The National League’s financial & governance rules
  • A progress report on the Premier League Grant Fund application and how its award would be deployed for supporter benefit
  • A discussion centred on the matchday PA system and how WFCSC fundraising support was nominated towards its improvement
  • A club proposal for a joint initiative between WFC & WFCSC around the re-launch of the ‘Junior Stones’ brand and membership
  • An appraisal of the first-ever ‘Family Fun Zones’ on matchdays and how their success can help support a push for the growth of first-generation Wealdstone supporters
  • Other promotional activities that aim to raise further funds for WFCSC which, in turn, can support the club
