Good afternoon and welcome to the Vale for this league fixture versus the Cray Wanderers.  We extend our usual warm welcome to their players, officials and supporters and hope you enjoy our hospitality before, during and after the match.

We are still buzzing after events here last Saturday.  What a fantastic day that will

long be remembered by all present.  The players played their hearts out, both sets of supporters made a lot of noise, Jolls scored a cracking goal that put us back in the match, Britt poked in the well-deserved winner and the defenders/midfield stopped any possible upsets at the other end.  The celebrations apparently continued long into the night with many a sore head on Sunday – I had to content myself with a Snowball to mark the occasion before driving home, where I burst into renditions of J.O.L.L.Y. and Ass-om-ba-longa.  My husband’s response was “I take it they won then?”

I’d just like to add our very best wishes for a speedy recovery to the Barrow goalie, Danny Hurst, who has now been discharged from Hillingdon Hospital after his head injury during the first half.  We hope he will be able to perform between the sticks again soon.

The draw for the 3rd round of the FA Trophy has been made and it’s Dartford away. Keep the 4th February free!  The Supporters Club will be running coaches for this match; cost will be £10 for Adults and £5.00 for Children U16’s and OAP’s.  Coaches will leave The Vale at 12.15 and will depart straight after the game.

To book…..

Jez and Clive will also be taking bookings at forthcoming home games starting today at half time and at the end of the game in the club shop.  On the day the football club will be offering subsidised breakfasts in the social club for £3.00, the bar will also be open , so when booking your place on the coach you can also book your breakfast as well, please let us know when booking.

As mentioned in Mark’s Supporters Club notes in last Saturday’s programme, the revamped WFC Supporters Club website is now up and running.  Please visit us at www.wfcsc.co.uk to see what this site can offer you.  Many, many thanks to Neil Rands for retrieving the site and bringing it into a new decade!   There is a link to our club shop (the Megastore) which can be accessed directly at www.wfcmegastore.co.uk.   This site has also undergone a “Ranos” tweak.  Please look to see what special offers are currently available on-line.

The Megastore will be open for personal shoppers this afternoon.  As we have been drawn away in the Trophy, please be aware that there are not many yellow away shirts remaining and there are no more expected this season, so GET YOURS TODAY!  There is a special shop only offer on blue team jackets as modelled by the Mass on Saturday for £20 – first come, first served.   You will need a scarf and/or hat to keep you warm these chilly nights watching the Stones, so show your support at the same time and buy one (or more) in the shop before winter really sets in.

As per usual on a match day, Golden Goals are available at the entrance to the ground for £1 a “go”. The holder of the ticket with the time of the first goal will win £50, and that with the time of the last goal will win £10 (unless there is only 1 goal).  Prizes can be claimed at half time (if the score is not 0-0) from the club shop and at the end of the match by the turnstiles.

Back to the League this afternoon and here’s hoping the lads can keep up the momentum in order to climb up the table.  As supporters we also need to keep up the volume – let’s be having ya!

Enjoy the match,
COME ON YOU STONES!
