Combined Counties League side Feltham were put to the sword by a rampant Wealdstone on Tuesday evening at The Orchard ground, Bedfont.

This entertaining Middlesex Senior Charity Cup tie produced six goals, all for the Stones, but it could have been many more but for some excellent saves by the home keeper – and the woodwork.

Strikers Richard Jolly and Shabazz Baidoo remain sidelined with hamstring injuries and a somewhat re-shaped side was fielded by Manager Gordon Bartlett.

Once Stones settled they soon forced the home keeper into several smart saves and the industrious Peter Dean shot wide when well placed early on. But the goals soon started to flow; first Lee Chappell got away and crossed for Alex Dyer to head home, then Dyer grabbed his second with a delightful lob over a stranded home custodian.

It wasn’t long before a clearance found Tommy Brewer who made 15 yards on a defender releasing Tom Pett. The wingers pass to Peter Dean made it   3-0. And before the half-time whistle Dean broke clear through the middle and soon nabbed his brace for the evening.

A change of keeper for the home side after the re-start brought little change of fortune as Dyer immediately capped a good night’s work and completed his hat trick with a left foot curling effort from 15 yards.

Feltham’s changed keeper did pull off a string of outstanding stops as Dean again went close to adding to his tally. The scoring was completed when Brewer crossed into the box and a defender put past his own glove man for  0-6.

Stones will now face Uxbridge away in the next round
