Wealdstone FC are delighted to announce that plans are fully in place to construct a new purpose built temporary ‘fans stand’ that will be positioned at the tea bar end of the ground at The Vale.

With crowds progressively increasing at The Vale since Stones moved in during 2008 there has been a pressing need to increase the amount of standing cover for the comfort of fans during inclement weather but also to enhance the atmosphere during home matches by providing for better acoustics – something Stones fans have felt has been lacking at The Vale with the current limited standing cover.

It is hoped that due to the innovative modular ‘bolt-on’ construction of the stand it will be ready and in position by the friendly match versus Chelsea on August 3.

The stand will be capable of holding up to 300 supporters and will be of modular steel construction and fully dismantlable, complying with all current safety regulations.

Wealdstone FC President, Paul Rumens, who has spearheaded the project said:  ‘This is really great news for the fans. Although the stand is temporary in construction it is very professional looking, flexible, and will enhance the appearance of The Vale which we have improved consistently from the dilapidated state when we moved in. We needed to look at how we could improve the atmosphere and standing cover and this solution, albeit temporary, will tick all the boxes.’

He added: ‘The cost of the stand is being met by supporters only and they are funding the project as a ‘fans stand’ and further initiatives will be announced soon to complete the outlay. I would like to absolutely thank all those fans who have so far made pledges to date and without whom none of this could have been made possible’
