Wealdstone’s new ‘Fans Stand’ is scheduled to be assembled and installed at The Vale at the Tea Bar end from Tuesday 23 July.

Many Stones fans have been working magnificently hard during the hot summer to lay down the base for the stand and other work and to ensure that construction can take place quickly and smoothly. Installation should be completed over 2-3 days.

The cost of the stand which is of steel modular construction is being funded entirely by supporter contributions and further initiatives will be announced to complete the outlay.

With crowds progressively increasing at The Vale since Stones moved in during 2008 there has been a pressing need to increase the amount of standing cover for the comfort of fans during inclement weather, but also to enhance the atmosphere during home matches by providing better acoustics – something Stones fans have felt has been lacking at The Vale with limited standing cover.

The stand will be capable of holding up to 300 supporters and will be of modular steel construction and fully dismantable, complying with all current safety regulations.
