Wealdstone have captured the signature of Skrill Conference North striker Jonny Wright, beating off interest from higher level clubs.

The very highly regarded 27-year-old front man has been at Workington for six years but has recently moved down to London. Stones Manager Gordon Bartlett moved quickly to sign the player on Ryman forms after Wright watched the recent FA Cup match against Kings Langley FC.

Wright, a big favourite with fans of the Reds, was appointed captain at Borough Park and has netted 73 times in 257 games since joining the Cumbrian club in 2004, and was top scorer with 14 goals during the 2007/08 season. He has been described by the Workington manager as ‘the complete centre forward’.
