Yesterday in the glorious sunshine, Wealdstone Ladies 1st team won the Thames Valley Division 1 league title by beating Barton Rovers on Sunday 30 March.

The Wealdstone team has been on a whirlwind journey. Several of the 1st team have been playing football through the ranks at the Denham / Wealdstone club since they were 9 years old but it has only been over the last few years the new Wealdstone team forming has it developed into an unstoppable force.

The winning streak starting with the girls winning the treble in 2010/11, finishing a strong 2nd in the Surrey League dropping only 3 points in 2011/12. 2012/13 saw the team enter into the Thames Valley League for the first time. Clearly a cut above the rest of the teams, the girls most definitely became women, demolishing every team with a goal tally of 138, conceding only 13 goals and all without losing a single match. Promoted into Division 1, the team confidently went into the 2013/14 season with a record to maintain. With 1 league game left, the ladies have confirmed their name on the league trophy along with a goal tally of 87 and only conceding 16.

Now they have their sights on the County Cup on the 27th April. Impressive stuff! This is a result of the time, dedication and passion given by the ladies Manager and Coach Gary Harling and Wayne Simmons. A massive thank you goes to all the families, friends and fans that have supported us at every game and from afar.
