Good afternoon to one and all.

So here we are having obtained three draws from our first three matches just like one year ago and we all know how that season ended! The squad has lost some key players and some new additions have been brought in, so it will take a while for the side to properly gel, but the signs are hopeful after our first games. If chances had been taken, we could have won all three.

Back to today. Our visitors, Farnborough, are one of three teams (as of 17/8) yet to register a point in this division and one of the other teams is Salisbury. This is where I drop in the requested quote of “boom & bust”. Please, please WFC, do not let today be the day that they get their first point, rather let it be the day we get our first 3 points in one game!

Thanks to all the fans that utilised the coach to Gosport Borough ably organised by Jez. There has been a discussion on the forum regarding the departure time of these coaches. We tend to err on the side of caution and this was proved to be a correct decision when there was a hold-up on the M3 due to a vehicular fire and later problems on the M25 that delayed some that had left later in the day. The next coach will be on Tuesday 16th September, when we travel down to Whitehawk. What a shame that this is a midweek game, we all so enjoyed our day in Brighton last time they were our opponents. The time and prices for this trip will be announced soon, if not today.

Turning to the more regular items in this column, remember that the Megastore now accepts card payments! No need to have items put by until you have the cash. Drop in and see what’s on offer. As mentioned in Clive’s notes last week, the Supporters’ Club annual and life membership prices will be increased on 1st October. Our membership secretary, Jeanette Dalton, will be next to me inside the turnstiles with details and enrolment forms. The new limited edition arrow shaped supporters’ membership badge is now available from the Megastore for just £3, don’t miss out.

Unfortunately, due to outside interference by some naughty people, the www.wfcmegastore.co.uk and the www.wfcsc.co.uk websites have been inaccessible of late. Our webmaster has spent weeks/days/hours attempting to resume normal service. Hopefully they will be up and running again by the time you read this so that you may peruse all that is available to you, the Megastore lines and away travel details.

As per usual on a match day, I shall be selling Golden Goal tickets (there is one for every 30 seconds and a nil-nil) at the entrance to the ground for £1 a “go”. The holder of the ticket with the time of the first goal will win £50, and that with the time of the last goal will win £10 (unless there is only 1 goal). Prizes can be claimed from me at the end of the match in the Megastore, behind the dugouts. The details of the winning time(s) are also shown on our website www.wfcsc.co.uk and posted on the forum so you can also claim at the next home match if you discover a “golden” ticket in your pocket/wallet.

There has been some confusion regarding the timing of the goals. As the tickets are for every thirty seconds, the times given for the Golden Goal prizes DO NOT match the official goal times which are rounded down to the nearest minute. The Golden Goal times are rounded up to the nearest 30 seconds. All clear? If not, please speak to me.

Let us get behind the lads today, whichever end we are, and cheer them on to victory. “All I care about is Wealdstone FC”
