In advance of tonight’s home league against Bath City, Supporters a Club Chairman, David Albert gives his thoughts about everything that is Wealdstone. This article appears in tonight’s official matchday programme.

Hello and welcome to the Vale for today’s game against Bath city  probably one of our biggest  bogey team. It is quite an amazing fact that we have not beaten Bath for over 28 years. We beat Bath in 1986 by 3 goals to 2 at Twerton Park in the Gola League and since then we have played them eleven times and have drawn twice and lost the rest.

It has not been a great start for the Stones to the current season after last season’s heroics and probably most people would have thought that we would have had a better start. However, it is quite a step up in class from the Ryman Premier League and it will take time to adjust to the higher standard. Let’s hope for a good performance tonight so that we can secure our first league win of the season.

Next Tuesday (16 September) sees us travel down to Sussex for a league game at Whitehawk. The Supporters club are intending to run a coach subject to there being a minimum of 30 people travelling. The coach will leave The Vale at 4.45 pm and will leave straight after the match.

Costs

We will also offer fans the opportunity to use the coach just on the way back for £10.00, which might help out those of you who going by train before the game.

We have recently had problems with both the Supporters club website and the Megastore website which have both been not operational for some time. Thankfully and only after many, many hours of toil, our website guru, Neil Rands has managed to get both websites up and running. Thanks Neil for all of your efforts. Hopefully from now onwards, both websites will be updated regularly to give all of our supporters up to date information relating to Supporters Club matters.

The Supporters Club decided to go ahead and purchase 2 flags to replace the ones which are located up the flag masts in the ground. Thanks to Mark Barton and Nick Dugard who organised this. These Flags should soon be in the possession of Mike Kane who will have the unenviable task of taking down the old tatty flags and replacing them with the new flags. Good Luck Mike!!!!

Don’t forget to buy your Golden Goals tickets today from Mim who stands just inside the ground, close to the turnstiles. Tickets are £1 each and you can win £50 for the first goal scored and £10 for the last goal scored. Goal times are announced by Bappo and published on the Supporters Club website (www.wfcsc.co.uk). If you do win you can collect your winnings after the game from Mim who will be in the Megastore. At the recent home game against Bromley, the £50 prize was claimed by long time supporter, John Knight. We’ll done John!
