In an immediate reaction to yesterday’s FA Cup exit, Wealdstone have announced the signing of midfielder/defender Mark Bentley from Boreham Wood.
The 6’2’hugely experienced 35 year old ex professional with Dagenham & Redbridge, Southend and Gillingham enjoyed a Football League career spanning 293 appearances and has recently seen service in the Skrill Conference South with Hayes & Yeading and Boreham Wood.
Wealdstone Manager Gordon Bartlett said: ‘To be successful over a long season we need options and Mark will add strength and experience to the squad which was certainly missing on Saturday without Wes Parker, Elliot Godfrey and Scott McCubbin’
Bartlett also had news relating to striker Scott McGleish: ‘I am delighted to say that Scott McGleish has managed to adjust his work commitments and will now be able to attend training sessions on a regular basis. He is fully aware things are not going his way, but it is typical of his attitude that he is prepared to make sacrifices in order to find his form. Good habits ingrained in shooting practices over 20 years as a pro have helped him get over any lean times in the past and I’m sure this is a positive move in Scott’s quest to rekindle his scoring form’.
