In other news, Stones Manager Gordon Bartlett and members of the playing staff have visited Jonathan North in Basildon Hospital where the keeper remains under observation. Jonathan underwent a 6 hour operation on Wednesday but surgeons are very pleased with his progress. Bartlett said: ‘ It was great to see Jon so upbeat and cheerful. He has had a pin inserted from his knee down to his ankle and the medical team are happy with how things went. It is a measure of how popular Jon is with the huge amount of messages of goodwill he has received for which he is hugely grateful’
