Wealdstone have signed striker Lewis Putman from Spartan League outfit Oxhey Jets where he was recently named player of the season.
22 year old Putman is a goal scoring phenomenon and last season hit an astonishing 81 goals in all competitions for the Jets.
The tall front man underwent trials with League Two side Wycombe Wanderers in April and had also been catching the attention of a number of non-league sides as his goal tally racked up ever higher.
Putman has previously featured on a Sky Sports news item that focussed on his goal scoring exploits, link here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pRFXzPcVeVk
Stones Manager Gordon Bartlett said: ‘I am delighted that Lewis has agreed to join us. This move offers a new challenge in his career after his fantastic record at Oxhey Jets and we are only too keen to help him achieve his ambition of playing at a higher level. Lewis is fully aware of our reputation of developing young players and he has the hunger, desire and natural goal scoring instincts to succeed at this level. I am confident he will put pressure on our current strikers, but also learn a great deal from experienced front men such as Chris Moore, Peter Dean and Scott McGleish.’
