Following the Football Club EGM and the overwhelming vote in favour of a new majority shareholder, Nick Semaca, the Supporters Club, on behalf of its members and the wider fanbase, is expressing its genuine and growing concern regarding the continued delay in finalising the new lease at The Vale.
Over a year ago, we were encouraged to hear that negotiations were close to conclusion and that an agreement was imminent on what was described as a relatively straightforward property matter. Given that context, we are increasingly anxious to understand why progress has stalled, particularly following the joint Heads of Terms announcement with KSIMC in June.
It is our understanding that the vast majority of issues relating to the lease have now been resolved and agreed in principle by all parties. However, despite this, the final signing of the lease has yet to take place and anticipated completion dates continue to pass without resolution.
Our concern is that these ongoing delays may place the proposed investment into Wealdstone FC at risk, creating uncertainty for everyone connected with the club at a moment when there is real hope and optimism about its future. This uncertainty is understandably unsettling for supporters who are eager to see the club move forward into what could be a transformative new chapter.
Without the security of a new lease, there is a widespread fear that the club’s long-term sustainability could be compromised, potentially undoing the immense efforts and dedication shown by so many people, both on and off the pitch, over many years.
As further key deadlines approach, supporters are keen to understand what challenges remain and how they might be addressed so that this matter can be brought to a positive conclusion. The lack of clarity is difficult for the fanbase and the wider community, many of whom value and rely upon The Vale and its facilities.
We sincerely hope that the outstanding matters can now be resolved swiftly, allowing the lease to be finalised and enabling all parties to focus on delivering the board’s vision for the club. We look forward to a future of stability, working in partnership with KSIMC to mutual benefit.
