FANS LAUNCH ‘100:400’ PLAYING BUDGET FUNDRAISER
Wealdstone FC Supporters Club are launching an important new fundraising scheme to support the playing budget for next season 2016/17 and provide additional funds in time for the vital end of season period.
The 100:400 scheme has worked very successfully in previous seasons and this scheme will follow a similar plan and is even more relevant now that Stones are playing at a higher level of football.
The Club is setting a fund raising target of £40,000 but we’d love to beat it! This money will go directly into next season’s playing budget; 100:400 is a shorthand for saying we are challenging 100 people or more (there is no limit on numbers!) to pledge £400. However, the club is simply asking fans to pledge what they can afford, so it doesn’t have to be £400; it could be £50 or even a tenner, we are all in this together and want to make next season a success.
Anyone donating a minimum of £25 will be entitled to a share purchase in Wealdstone FC (2000) Ltd. Shares will be allocated in blocks of £25 donation value
A donation could also be a lump sum or a weekly/monthly payment over 10 weeks to the end of the current playing season. Payment options and periods will be flexible and standing orders can be set up.
The recent club AGM heard that commercial activities are becoming more successful but we need to do more in the short term to raise additional funds quickly to ensure that we have a competitive playing budget for next season
Howard Krais Chairman of Wealdstone FC said: “With two seasons experience at this level we have a good idea of what is required to fund a competitive team. Although we are bringing in record levels of commercial income, and are looking at every opportunity to increase revenues further while controlling our costs, we still need to do more. Contributions from supporters and others might just make the difference and will help to give us a team we are proud to watch every week. I hope that plenty of people will support this scheme and I will be happy to be one of the first to hand over my cheque this weekend”
