Wealdstone FC Supporters Club were deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Life Member Alan Couch on Wednesday.

Alan was a colossus of Wealdstone FC, who he supported since a boy. Alan joined the Supporters Club committee in the late 1960’s and became Treasurer in 1976, a post he held for 4 years. Although no longer treasurer, he continued to look after the accounts for the Market Tea Bar (at the time the SC ran the tea bar at the Thursday Harrow Market) for several years.

After ceasing his involvement with the SC, Alan took on many roles for the main club on the secretarial side. He was an excellent administrator. He undertook the role of Match Secretary for over 20 years. Alan was also involved for over 30 years with the Capital League from the set up in 1984 through to 2015.

Tributes on the Fans Forum and social media show the affection and high esteem felt by many towards Alan. He was a true Wealdstone legend.

RIP Alan
