Stones overcame Northwood 3-0 at Chestnut Avenue on Tuesday night and in the process inflicted Woods first pre-season defeat, whilst maintaining their own unbeaten run this summer.
Wealdstone raced into the lead as early as the seventh minute when Peter Dean netted with a great effort and then fellow striker Scott Fitzgerald grabbed a brace within a two minute spell mid-way through the first half to give the away side a comfortable cushion at the interval
Stones rang the changes, using several replacements in the second period and this slowed the momentum a little allowing Woods to come ino the game. In fact the home side were unlucky to hit the woodwork twice but they couldn’t find the net.
Wealdstone’s next first team friendly is on Saturday at The Vale when the visitors are Hemel Hempstead, kick-off 3pm
