It is the turn of Supporters Club Committee Member, Miriam Goodman to write in the Stones matchday programme for Saturday’s home 2-1 victory against Hendon in the Ryman Premier League. Her article appears below.

Good afternoon to one and all.

Hopefully we have a game today after two postponed fixtures. It was a difficult choice last Saturday – should one start a journey to Margate when it was more than likely to be called off as soon one arrived? I decided to set off as I would have been even more miffed if I hadn’t gone and the match was played.

Due to demand, the Supporters’ Club organised a coach for this trip. In Jez’s absence, Seth kindly stepped in to collect names, take payment and liaise with the coach company. It is a great pity that when someone volunteers to provide a service for the fans, some people do not have the courtesy to advise that they cannot come after all, or they just change their minds on the day. It is also not fair for some to take out their disappointment of the wasted journey on Seth and the coach driver. We shall certainly not be able to offer this service as frequently as we may have wished to in the future.

A reminder regarding ordering Macron items from the Megastore in time for delivery for Christmas: If you wish to have items posted the last date for orders is this Sunday 2nd December, or if you are collecting in person, the last date is Sunday 9th December. See their website www.wfcmegastore.co.uk for details.

As per usual on a match day, I shall be selling Golden Goal tickets at the entrance to the ground for £1 a “go”. The holder of the ticket with the time of the first goal will win £50, and that with the time of the last goal will win £10 (unless there is only 1 goal). Prizes can be claimed from me at the end of the match by the turnstiles. The details of the winning time(s) are also shown on our website www.wfcsc.co.uk so you can also claim at the next home match if you discover a “golden” ticket in your pocket/wallet. The time of the first goal at our last match here v Carshalton on Saturday 17th November was 27:00 minutes and the time of the last goal was 80:30 minutes, both unclaimed as yet. Thanks to all those who support our fund-raising efforts.

We have been on such a run these last few months, I just hope the players can keep the momentum going.

COME ON YOU STONES!
