Wealdstone FC Supporters Club is donating £10,000 toward the playing budget of the main club for the upcoming 2013/14 season.
The Supporters Club have been particularly successful in the past season with several new fund raising initiatives, including catering for BBQ Wembley weekends. It has built on the rapidly growing success of the Megastore club shop expanded with a new facility at The Vale last year, together with increasing on-line souvenir and kit sales.
Supporters Club Chairman David Albert said: ‘We are delighted to assist the main club in this way with vital funds to support the playing budget. Our committee have worked tremendously hard again in the past season and this is what it is all about – we want to help out on the pitch wherever we can. I would like to thank all our loyal fans for supporting us with their purchases on match days whether it is a golden goal ticket, buying a replica shirt on-line or coming to an event.’
He added: ‘It is important for our members to realise that this is not added money; this forms part of the budgeted funds announced by Howard Krais in his recent video blog and is integral to it. This therefore makes this money an even more vital contribution to maintaining a competitive playing squad’
The Supporters Club are planning more fund raising projects and events this season including a big Sporting Dinner in November at the Ruislip Social Club
