Dave Reader was recently presented with the Tom Verrall Shield for being ‘Supporter of the Year’. Although we are in lockdown, Executive Committee member Terry Hissey was able to visit Grosvenor Vale to formally present the Shield.
The ‘Supporter of the Year’ was instigated in 1990 and the Tom Verrall Shield, to record the achievement, in 2003. Dave is the last recipient as it is planned to replace this shield in 2021.
So they are not lost to time, the names of the recipients from 1990 to 2002 are engraved on a plate affixed to the reverse of the Shield.
